Despite the updates and development, machines tend to slow down over time for various reasons. And for those problems, we have a neat set of solutions you can use to make your PC run faster. Take a couple of minutes from your busy life to test out these simple solutions.

(This guide mainly consists of solutions for Windows 8 and 10. But certain solutions may be applicable for lower Windows versions as well)

  • Update your system OS

You'd be surprised to know the number of people who still use Windows 7 or lower. Be it the simplicity of the old OS versions or the laziness to update, it still matters that you stay up to date. Microsoft is mainly focused on Windows 10. They get the goodies and bug fixes and various new features like the Free up space now which helps your PC maintain a stable speed.

  • Virus removal
Over time, your computer is bound to pick up a certain type of virus which Windows Defender or any other antivirus programme which would fail to pick up. It could be by outdated antivirus or disabling the antivirus software to pirate games etc. These types of viruses may or may not be critical but maybe a huge cause of slowing down your computer. At this point, what you could do is update your antivirus software/ renew it if it's expired.

  • Getting rid of programmes you never use
This is one of the main causes of slow systems. Basically, these are files and programmes that you downloaded a long time ago and don't use anymore. They might not harm your PC but they sure do suck up a lot of space. Also, these types of programmes can leech memory without your knowledge. So all you have to do is,
  1. Press the start button in the left bottom corner
  2. Click settings
  3. Select system
  4. Click apps and features
  5. Click uninstall on any app you don't use anymore

  • Malware removal
If you don't know already, Virus is a type of malware. It is supposed to replicate and spread. But malware is used to describe all sorts of malicious codes including viruses, trojans, adware, spyware and more. Malware is not detected by your ordinary antivirus and will require an anti-malware programme like Malwarebytes. Install the programme and let it scan for any malware on your PC. As soon as the scan is done, malicious files identified will be moved to the quarantine section. You are now free to delete it from there.

  • Disable animations in Windows 10
Windows animations consume a significant amount of resources to display the eye-catching visuals to make the computer look better. If you don't care about how your desktop looks, you should probably turn off animations. You might see a difference in speed after this step. Simply,
  1. Right click on This PC
  2. Select Properties
  3. Select Advanced system settings
  4. Select settings inside the Performance box
  5. Select Adjust for best performance
  6. Click apply and then OK

  • Change your power settings
The power consumption by your PC is in default, set to recommended. What this feature does is, it makes your PC slow to save more power. You can change it to high performance by going to,
  1. The Settings
  2. Choosing the system option
  3. Then click on the power and sleep option
  4. And then click on additional power settings
  5. Now select high performance

  • Keep Windows updated at all times
Windows regularly send out the update for various bug fixes that make your PC fast. It also removes certain useless windows files that you don't require to free up space. It also gives new features to simplify your PC as much as possible. This can help your PC run faster.

  • Disable search index
What this basically does is that Windows indexes the hard disc in the background. This helps you find your files quickly but disabling this feature can result in a faster PC. To disable search index,
  1. Type services.msc in the search box and select Services
  2. Scroll down to find the Windows Search Service or the Indexing Service
  3. Double click the Service
  4. Click on Stop
  5. Reboot the PC

  • Cleaning the registry
The Registry in your PC is a very important but messy place. It controls almost everything like how Windows works and looks. Yet it gets very messy the more you use your PC. For example, it saves settings and certain data of programmes that you might've uninstalled. This leads to slow down your system. Now cleaning the registry is not an easy thing to do. And if you try to do it manually, it will take hours and hours. To clear the registry,
  1. Download CCleaner
  2. Install it
  3. Run it

  • Running a few programs at the same time
Sometimes we open so many programmes at once that we forget that it is running in the background which consumes RAM and other resources. Try to run a few programmes at the same time to make the PC run fluently. You can also go to the Task Manager to find out hidden programmes and end them there.

  • Windows Troubleshooter
The dedicated section for various troubleshooter's in the Settings app can sometimes find a device driver or a software that is not working well with the system and resolve it. It fixes various other errors regarding your Keyboard, Mouse, Bluetooth and even your Speakers. To do so,
  1. Go to Settings
  2. Click on Update and Recovery
  3. Select Troubleshooter

  • Shutting down and restarting windows
This seems too simple. But sometimes can prove very effective. If you haven't restarted your PC for 2 or 3 days or even more, do it now. Sometimes your PC will need a rest and this process clears out the excess use of RAM. This simple trick has worked wonders to many people. Hope it would do to you too!

  • Disable live tiles
The live tiles in the Start Menu or Start Screen use much more energy than you think it does. Although it consumes resources and battery, it does not make a huge impact on slow down the system. But turning it off can result in slightly faster speed. To do so,
  1. Click on the Start Menu
  2. Right-Click a live tile
  3. Click on More
  4. Select Turn live tile off

  • More RAM
Is your still running on a 2GB or a 4GB RAM? If so, I think it's time to upgrade it. Latest programmes and games minimally require at least 8GB RAM to run smoothly. Same goes for your PC. The more you clutter your PC with files and data, the more RAM it will need to run smoothly.

  • Resetting the PC
If your computer is still in the slow state as before, all you can do is reset it and hope that it would be in a better state. Older and outdated devices are most likely to fail at a certain point no matter what.

Unity Get Post web requests - Technoob Technology

Web requests in unity are super easy to use. We gonna use the UnityWebRequest class as the WWW class is deprecated now. UnityWebRequest class can be used for both Get and Post methods. The 'UnityEngine.Networking' namespace is required to work with UnityWebRequests.  This tutorial is made with some simple UI elements. First Let's see how the GET method works. 01. UnityWebRequest.GET We use this method to receive data from the server as normal get requests. Using coroutines in web requests is mandatory as we have to wait until the download is complete before showing the results, and the coroutines make this much easier. A simple button calls the method and a text element will show the result. The script contains a reference to the text element and the string URL of your PHP file.  When the button is pressed the button executes the ButtonGetData method and that method simply starts the GetData coroutine. We use the using keyword as this data ...

Unity engine gives us a good control on audio clips we use, But the problem is when we add several audio sources for several audio clips it's gonna get hard to control them all. And if you want to make some changes to only one audio source you have to find it first.  This will become a mess if you gonna work with more than 10 audio clips. In this case, we can Create an AudioManager and include all the audio clips in it and make some static methods to play, pause the audio from other scripts. This Audio Manager is written in C# and if you use unity-script you have to convert this into unity script first. In this tutorial, we gonna create an audio manager which contains 7 methods. 1.Play 2.Pause 3.Unpause 4.Stop 5.FadeIn 6.FadeOut 7.lower volume for a duration First, we need a Custom class which contains some strings, floats, bools and an audio clip. This class is not derived from unity mono behavior so we should add [System.Serializable] t...
